Recent Accreditation
The landscape industry is forever changing. With water restrictions and chemical compliance there is an ongoing need for training, certification and accreditation. In November 2009, White Oak Landscape became an ARCSA Accredited Professional due to our commitment to continuing education and excellence in the field of rainwater harvesting. This recent certification helps solidify our commitment to provide the most environmentally and up-to-date services to our clients.
On the Cover
In August and December 2007, White Oak Landscape had the distinct honor of providing the cover shots for Atlanta Home Improvement magazine. In August, one of our outdoor kitchens, complete with accent lighting and fireplace, provided the introduction to their article on outdoor lighting. In December, an Atlanta home was featured on the cover that had recently undergone extreme renovation, complete with a landscape design and installation by White Oak. We are both proud and honored to be recognized on such a publication, and offer great thanks to our clients for allowing their property to be published.
Continuing Education & Certification
As of February 2008, we are members of the Irrigation Association; a membership which provides ongoing training and product information. During recent times of water shortages, such training is a vital asset.
In the summer of 2008, several White Oak employees completed and passed the State exam for Chemical Commercial Pesticide Application and now are certified chemical applicators. This is important for the proper maintenance and execution of our Lawn Care division.
Room To Grow
Located on almost seven acres, White Oak Landscape’s facility houses an office building, equipment and truck storage, greenhouses, and materials storage. Licensed to house live plants, White Oak stages all installs here at our own facility, making sure that the materials we install are of our quality and standards. As such, we have the in-house ability to complete almost any landscape project.
Equipment Essentials
White Oak Landscape owns and safely operates a wide range of important equipment for our industry. From the traditional mowers and weed eaters for routine maintenance to large equipment for larger projects such as skid steers, back hoes, and even dump trucks. White Oak has the size and ability to complete even the largest landscape project entirely within our own skill and equipment capabilities.
Our History
White Oak Landscape was established in June 1977 by Doug Davis. Initial operations were conducted at Doug’s house in Marietta with the “office” being an 8’ x 12’ tool shed with no air conditioning or heat.
In January 1979, White Oak operations relocated to 1742 Canton Highway, where the company sublet a little more than ½ an acre from a crosstie company, and maintained the use of the tool shed as an office.
In February 1981, 2.85 acres were purchased on Liberty Hill just off Canton Highway. White Oak rented office space in the basement of the house on the land, which belonged to the people who sold White Oak the acreage. In March 1982, a 795 square foot office was built, followed by the addition of 1,250 square feet in December 1984.
Soon, White Oak Landscape outgrew its Liberty Hill home, and in January 1986, White Oak purchased just under 7 acres on Moon Station Road, which is now our home.
Since its inception, White Oak Landscape has grown its services from just landscape design and installation, to now including all complimentary landscape services.
